CPU speed error when starting up FC2

Hi,

When FC2 starts up and gets to the graphical progress screen, the following error message pops up but the startup continues as normal:

starting cpu ?throtling? : /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_govenor
Error: no such file or directory

Is this concerning the power management features? It comes right after the IA32 microcode update.

TIA for any info.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that FC2 is running on a Toshiba TE2300 laptop with a Pentium-M 1.3GHz chip.

I remember seeing this message as well when I was messing around with FC2. I thought it was odd. I don't think I see it with FC1.

I'm used an Athlon 1800+ destop.

Thanks for the info.

It might be just something they're testing...I just don't know if it affects anything yet :(

Actually... I just installed kernel 2.6.3 on my FC1 and this error is now showing up. I don't remember seeing it when I was using 2.4. Hmmm...

I'm getting the same thing on a Fujitsu S6120. I'd like to enable ACPI support and CPU scaling, though..

THX75 03-11-2004 02:52 PM

I installed kernel 2.6.4 today and I no longer get this error.

Thanks for the info THX75 :)

I may get kernel 2.6.4 and see if it fixes it as well here :)

Cheers,

Alf829,

If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have installed 2.6.4 on FC1 as I had one hell of a time getting the sound (ALSA) to work with the kernel. Then again, I noticed you're using FC2 so it probably wouldn't be such a big deal since your already using 2.6.

Good luck!
