Core 5 Kernels

I have a question:

I did a fresh install of Fedora Core 5 and updated the kernel to 2.6.17-1-2174_FC5

But i want to know the easiest way to install kernel running a Stack larger than 4K. Mainly I installed ndiswrapper and it is giving me this 4K Stack error. so i figure fir the time being that i would down grade my kernel for the time being in order to use ndiswrapper for my wireless card driver.

What kernel should i use? can i at least use a 2.x.16 kernel due to the built in features from fedora?

And last but not least what is the best way to install? yum? compile from source?

Thanks

You need to download the source and rebuild the kernel and disable the 4k stack option.

If you have never built a kernel then you need to read the release notes and the kernel rebuild guide;

http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/releas...ISO/#sn-Kernel
http://www.digitalhermit.com/linux/K...ild-HOWTO.html

The 4k stack option is in the kernel hacking section if I remember correctly.

Some places offer 16k stack kernels, use google to find them.
