Core 4 and Java

I have installed core 4 and everything except java is working fine. I just can't seem to get java going when I browse. I installed it when I did the core4 install and it is marked as being active in the firefox settings but when I go into a site that uses java it comes up saying I need to install the plugin.

What do I do??

If you're using FC4-64, the java plugin seems to be non-existent. I've seen some pretty convoluted work-arounds, but choose to wait ... personally. Seems like Sun ought to get a 64-bit plugin together pretty soon.
