Converting PDF files

I have a Form letter made of pdf, and I can't work in or edit mode to type in info I want to enter.
Do I convert form to a different format to type what I want to enter?
And what format would it have to be to fax it from computer?

Did not spend much time google or using the search tool but on ggole using the search string ' linux pdf edit ' shows many choices. Most look like saving each page to an image, using gimp, and then peiceing them back together.

I thought ghost or something similar in name could edit and create pdf files.

I open the PDF file in Gimp (good ole Gimp) and added the text I needed and saved from Gimp as a
Postscript file. It is kind of trickey but it worked.
Thanks for you help

Jim
