Can anybody offer any advice, or point me to a good resource on how to get my D-Link DWL-650 wireless card to work with Fedora? I've been looking everywhere and no luck. Fedora has the capabilities to set up a wireless connection, but this card isn't present in the select list offered in configuration. However, I did come across a thread where somebody claimed they got it working. Please help!
Depends which version you've got, 650P is a brainwipe out of the box, If it will work, wlan-ng should make it happen.
Read the FAQ page here: http://www.linux-wlan.com/linux-wlan/
Also, check with the good folks on the wireless networking forum on this site.
If anything like this:
02:00.0 Network controller: Harris Semiconductor D-Links DWL-g650 A1 (rev 01)
shows up in lspci it should work with the driver from http://prism54.org should work.
But you'll have to patch and recompile your kernel to use that driver. It should be included in 2.6.5 kernels though.
