Configuration file for which Desktop manager to use?
Okay, so I cannot use my computer unless I use the only Live CD I have, which is Gentoo, and no ability to use any GUI-based tools, like Desktop Switcher. Please remember that, unlike what the ops of #fedora did.
My system auto logs in as my usual user account, saving me hassles. However I changed some sound server prefs so I can actually have sound in gaim and Flash, and not just KDE's system stuff. However now KDE won't start, it locks up when Configuring peripherals, or whatever it says. I know GNOME will work, but I need a way to use GNOME as default instead of KDE, and that lies within a config file. Now as I said, I can only get into my system by booting from a Gentoo Live CD then mounting my HD. What configuration file do I need to edit so I can start into GNOME? Please help me, unlike what I got in #fedora, which was an unnessesary muting and being made fun of after said muting. |
/etc/sysconfig/desktop is what you need to edit.
