changing boot option from gui to text


i am running core 2 and currently it boots into gnome upon start up. how can i change it so that it boots into text mode. i still want to keep gnome though.

remove the rhgb at the end of the kernel line inside your /etc/grub.conf and replace it with 3. This will initiate the init 3 instead of init 5 during startup.
