Cdrom-read-write of a cd-rw

How do you put a Cd-RW media in your burner and do a read-write edit onto the Cd-RW, let say editing in a spreadsheet that already exist the Cd-RW?
My brother does this in Windows98, keeping records on Cd-WR.
He ask me howto do this in Linux FC5, and I don't know.
Please help.

You may need to reconfigure your kernel to support udf packet editing. I think that the kernel support is still experimental.
Here are a couple links:
This link mentions that 2.6.10 kernels and later don't need patching.
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Packet_Writing_on_CD-RW

This sourceforge project is for a patched 2.4.0test kernel.
