CDR problems

I put in a cdr and when trying to burn a file get the following error message
cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'.
cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you are root.
cdrecord: Permission denied. Cannot open '/dev/hdc'. Cannot open SCSI driver.
scsibus: -2 target: -2 lun: -2
devname: '/dev/hdc'
scsidev: '/dev/hdc'
cdrecord: WARNING: This causes a high risk for buffer underruns.
cdrecord: Permission denied. WARNING: Cannot set priority using setpriority().
cdrecord: Operation not permitted. WARNING: Cannot set RR-scheduler
cdrecord: WARNING: This causes a high risk for buffer underruns.
Any help would be appreciated Joe47

What is the command line you used? What is the result of cdrecord --scanbus?

I put the CDR in my burner a window opened & used a option to burn
something from the file menu after dragging & dropping something in
the window from my home directory. The results of cdreord -scanbus are:

[joe@localhost ~]$ cdrecord -scanbus
Cdrecord-Clone 2.01-dvd (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2004 Jörg Schilling
Note: This version is an unofficial (modified) version with DVD support
Note: and therefore may have bugs that are not present in the original.
Note: Please send bug reports or support requests to http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla
Note: The author of cdrecord should not be bothered with problems in this version.
scsidev: 'ATA'
devname: 'ATA'
scsibus: -2 target: -2 lun: -2
Linux sg driver version: 3.5.27
Using libscg version 'schily-0.8'.
