catalyst and Fed 17
I have a new install of Fed 17. It won't work with an overhead projector, or any other screen as a mirror. I can have the laptop screen, or the other screen but not both.

If I install amd catalyst linux driver, do you think it will work?? Anyone done this with Fed 17

Is it easy to uninstall if it goes haywire, as I suspect it might??

Fedora 17 comes with X.Org server 1.12. Currently only the beta version of Catalyst 12.6 supports this version, but the new Catalyst versions don't support pre-HD5000 video chips. Which video chip are you using?

ATI Radeon 6310

I didn't have this problem in Fed 16!

Which driver have you used in Fedora 16?

I don't know. It just worked in the System Settings> Display

Can you recommend something??

Just wanted to mention: the problem here lies with Fedora, not my computer: I booted from a Ubuntu Live CD, and even then, the screen display manager works and I can mirror screens. The LiveCD did not use a proprietary driver.

I work with the rpmfusion drivers using

yum install kmod-catalyst xorg-x11-drv-catalyst xorg-x11-drv-catalyst-libs
but still not released! please patience!
