cant login to console


i edited my inittab file to get my computer to boot into console mode. it asks for a login name and i type it in. then it asks for a password but i cant type any text. i can hit enter and it says invalid password. i just started using linux a few days ago so i dont really know what im doing.

The password is not echoed to the screen nor are any **** displayed. This is so no one can guess the number of characters in your password.

Just type in your passward at the prompt and press the enter key.
