Can't find xxd for fedora core 5

Hi all,

I am trying to create a couple of Wepkeys for some WLAN setup and when I tried doing the following

Code:

dd if=/dev/random bs=1 count=16 2>/dev/null |xxd -ps
It tells me it not found!!!
Using locate localy does not give me any results either...
Now when I try to install it via yum it can't be found either...where has it gone?

Does anyone know? Where can I find it?

Thanks for any help.

Mine is in /usr/bin

Question - have you run updatedb, as I don't believe it is automated by default in FC5

Butterbroetchen 06-28-2006 07:05 AM

Yes I have done an updatedb and now I have manually checked the /usr/bin folder but there is no xxd :(

Any other Ideas...is this also fc5 that you have?

Do you perhaps know what package it might be part of or in?

Thanks for the suggestion thou.

Cheers

Yes, I checked my FC5 machine. What repos do you have set up?

Code:

yum install vim-common

I have linva, fresh and the extras setup and they seem to work fine.

Yes! It works after installing vim-common.

Great stuff!

Thanks All!
