1) are the drives listed in /etc/fstab ?
- if not, read
Code:
man fstab
and put them in there
2) Is the modem a hard or soft modem (probably the latter) and if the latter, are the drivers installed?

Fedora does not include NTFS support in its default kernel.
It also does not automatically configure to mount windows partitions either.

There have lots of posts the website on how to mount vfat (FAT32) and NTFS partitions.

To see how the drives are partitioned log in as root and in a console window enter the command:
fdisk -l (that is a small L)

You need to create a directory to use as a mount point and then add an entry in the /etc/fstab file.
