Not really a Fedora issue.
When you install Fedora 15, it comes with Gnome 3.
Not very friendly yet, this Gnome 3. In a year, may be ?
( There may be a way to configure it, I haven't found it yet.
The KDE 4 version is nicer. And files can be saved in /home/<name>.
( Default settings in KDE4 has no "Desktop surface", like Gnome 3.))

Solution : Use another Desktop like Xfce4.

..
