Ok, Here is a new update, for those that are up for the challenge. There is only on thing to gain and that is the knowledge of why something did not happen. On pas posts I stated what my system was made of. The basic problem is that installing from the CD, internally or the USB-CD stops working after the start up menu. I can get RHES 4.6 to load, Ubontu and Knoppix Live to boot. Can't get Fedeora 10 Live or Dist (downloaded or on CD from book), to load and run. Get to the partitioning part and stops after that. So I'm still working on WHY!.I'm running from Knoppix Live at them moment. So onward to this quest. Anyone care to join to find WHY... Thanks

Rise to the challenge

I have not been on here for a while and reading your post has raised hopes considerably.

I am in exaclty the same postion as you I can do all distro so far with little or no problems bar F10 with almost similar problems to you.

So will mess around with my system and try to get it going over the next day or so.

I suspect the "why" is that the USB driver is, somehow, unloaded from the kernel. Perhaps the problem may be fixed in Fedora 11, which should be available next week.
