can not connect to a samba printer
A few months ago I decided to seperate my linux machine from my windows machine. I want to install my printer under a samba share. I think that's what I want. This is specifically what I want to do. I want to be able to connect to my printer through my network and print to it. My printer is connected to a win xp machine. When I try to install the printer using the redhat-config-printer utility the system can not find the printers on the network.
I am usiung fedora core 1. kernel version 2.4.22-1.2199.nptl My printer is a hp 882c thanks, hockeyfan |
This may sound obvious - if the printer is the XP machine you will need to enable sharing on it. You should then be able to set up a new queue with system-config-printer that uses an account on the XP machine to access the printer share.
