can i download fedora core 2 final with an webdownloader?
hello!
today it's the 18.05, the official date for the fedora core 2 final releas. i am runnig now under fedora core 1 and want to upgrade to core 2. in some other post i read that it's not good to download the iso's with an webdownloader, because the installation will fail. is it true? my connection is very very bad..it's horryble...sometimes there are only bytes not kb, only at night i can download a litle bit faster. and sometimes our network connection just hangs up, so i have to use everytime a downloader that accepts "resume". do i have a chance to use the iso's after such an download or not?
thanx a lot !!
with regards, boby !

i know this is not directly answering your quesion.. but if you have such a slow connection, maybe you could order the cds online for under.. $7?
www.cheapbytes.com is a site i see often (and some of the ads on the LQ website itself..)
or.. maybe you could kindly ask someone you know to download it for you?

I'm new to LINUX and have tryed about a dozen distros to see which I like best. So far I down loaded all with StarDownloader (found link on TECHTV web site) because of the same problems with my web conection. All of the ISOs have worked fine, don't see why this one wouldn't. I'm downloading this one now and will know if it works in about 4 days.
StarDownloader has 2 versions, I'm using the free one and I,m sure some of the other download managers out there are good too.

Good luck with your downloads!!!!!!!
You probably already know this but, don't forget to check the md5sum on all your iso images and to use the proper burning prosess when transfering to CDs

I've been reading about a bug in FC2 that is causing problems in multi-boot systems so I'm going to finish downloading and wait a while to do the install. I already have Win3.1, XP Home, & Suse8.1 in my system, don't want to do any thing to mess up my partition table.
