can connect to wlan when WEP is off, but when WEP is off cannot join wlan

I have an intergrated wireless card on my Gateway MX6450 laptop running Fedora Core 5
2.6.15-1.2054_FC5

ndiswrapper is installed using the bw15 wireless driver.

I have a D-Link

The problem is I can connect to the wireless network with WEP off, but with WEP enabled I cannot connect either through the GUI setup or if I configure the WEP key from the command line.

I don't understand.

Okay so you've got a D-Link (there are many D-Links...)
You said that you can connect with no WEP Key but if you want to use one you can't correct!?
If you connect with no wep key means that you configured your D-Link XXXX as open.
What does then /sbin/iwconfig show you?
Do you have DHCP enabled within D-Link XXXX ?
When you set wep key on your DLink and then enter the needed key on the console do you use ASCII? If so don't forget to begin with s:
