Thumbs down Can't install RPMs

Well, as Fedora 2 DOESN'T HAVE a package installer GUI by default (how crap is that???) I am using the command line but I am having problems

When I try to install an RPM I get this, an example >>>>>>>>>>>>

rpm -i sylpheed-0.9.10-1.i386.rpm
error: can't create transaction lock

What does that mean?

And don't even start me on not being able to mount things

Hi.

You have to be logged on as root to do anything usefuyl with rpm.

Do 'su' and enter your root password, then you should be able to install stuff.

Dave.

P.S. This may be the problem with mounting as well.
