Angry Can't receive Dynamic IP address in FC2 with dhclient

I cannot connect to the internet (or any dynamic network for that matter) with FC2. I just installed FC2 after running RH9 for about a year. I never had a lick of trouble with RH9 - Just plug it in before boot time or run "ifup eth0" and/or dhclient "eth0" and presto - I was golden. Now it won't get IP address. Same machine - ethernet card appears to be supported in FC2. All it does is so the DCHPREQUEST on 11 255.255.255.255 blah... blah... but won't ever connect. It makes mention of a file: dhclient.conf that SHOULD contain config for the eth0 device but that file doesn't exist anywhere... where should it be? I would assume /etc/dhclient.conf but I don't know. It's the same game for my Wifi card...

I tried turning off iptables... that didn't help. It's like it won't accept incoming DHCP or something. GRRRR. Any help would be great! Thank in advance.

What nic card are you using? I'm having the same problems with 3com (3c59x). But it seems to be a workaround for it.

Quote:
Following someone else's instructions, I was able to get the card to work on Fedora Core 2 by inserting this line at the top of /etc/rc.sysinit:

insmod /lib/modules/2.6.5-1.358/kernel/drivers/net/3c59x.ko

It gives an error message on bootup, something to the effect of "file exists", but the card works afterwards.
It did seem to show the nic ip address, when before I didn't get the ip numbers for the nic, using ifconfig -a command.

But I'm still not able to connect to the internet when trying to ping a website.
