Can't log in to XFCE on Fedora 13 - password OK but GDM screen just reappears
Hi,
I've installed Fedora 13 with XFCE as the desktop environment. When I login from the GDM, the screen goes black for a bit, then it just switches back to the login screen. I've booted into runlevel 3 and logged in, but I'm not sure where to look now... Cheers, Gus Edit - Code:
$startx |
how did you install xfce?
during install along with Gnome ? or using " yum groupinstall " after you installed the default Gnome or what. |
I selected XFCE in the installation process (set "customize now" in the package selection bit, then under desktop environments - deselected Gnome and selected XFCE).

well if you did not install the default Gnome then GDM never was installed. XDM might have been installed ??
fedora requires some of Gnome to be installed inorder to work |
GDM = Gnome Desktop Manager.
