Can't get to login screen

I installed FC3 and had to do so in text mode. When ever a GUI attempts to come up my system just shows a black screen. It then stays there until I hard reboot the system. As such when I run Fedora it initalizes the first line and then goes to a black screen.

I am running a ATI 9600 Pro, and it did identify it. Any suggestions?

Well I used the rescue CD to get into the command prompt and I added the "noaccel" option in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf with no success. I'm not sure where to go from here...

Any thoughts?
