Can't find SMP (Pentium 4 HT) kernel version
Hi there,
I installed the 2.6.17-1.2139_FC5 version of the kernel on my Fedora Core 5, but only then I realized I had to install an SMP (multiprocessor) version to take advantage from the HT function of my P4 processor.
Well, I started to search for the SMP kernel package, relative to this version number, and I simply can't find it! HELP!!! I tried Livna, Fedora original site, rpmfind.net and none! I'm just able to find the single-processor version!
Does anybody here knows where can I find the RPM package for me to update my kernel?
Thanks a lot!!!

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.

As for this kernel your looking for, none of the mirrors seam to have it. Your best bet is probably to download the src RPM from where ever you got the non-smp RPM from and recompile it with SMP support. Either that or just wait for Redhat to release it on there ftp site and get it from a mirror.

Hi, guys,
Hey, sorry, now I realized it did was my fault... I thought it would be more coherent to post this question here, and simply forgot to close the other thread... sorry, guys, my fault!
John, happilly I was able to update my Fedora, and it updated the kernel to the latest version WITH smp support... but, for my disgrace, some problems occurred, as I posted on this thread here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=461541
Could you help me on that, if I'm not asking too much?
Thanks a lot, John!
