Can't find idle in Fedora Core 1

Hi All,

I have recently installed Fedora Core 1, no problems, however, as a budding Python enthusiast I tried starting "idle" but with no luck.

Python is installed and I can run it interactively from the command line, but I thought IDLE was part of the distribution and would run by default.

Using the "locate" command (from "updatedb") didn't reveal anything useful either...

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

jdw

actually I ran "whereis" before "locate", no luck there...any binary paths that "whereis" shows (e.g. /usr/bin/idle) would show up in the "locate" command as well...

I might just uninstall/reinstall python and see what 'appens...

Can't find idle in Fedora Core 1

Found it!

Just to close off this thread, my install of Fedora didn't include "tkinter", and idle requires the tkinter module in order to run...

I installed this with apt-get and now it works!
