C Fortran linking problem

Hi,

I was using RH, FC1, FC2, FC3 without problems to do some calculations using the code
http://www.ifh.de/~pukhov/CALCHEP/calchep_2.3.7.tar.gz
In this code the link between C and fortran occurs through the option "-lg2c"

With FC4, I could not find g77, f77 as fortran compilers, instead there was only gfortran. in the man page of gfortran, they don't recommend using gfortran for codes that use g77 as it is not yet complete (the gfortran compiler)
My problem is that I can no longer use the package above.
I have tried to install g77 with yum (compat-gcc-g77 and some other packages for dependency) but the linking problem persisted (persists).

I am not a good programmer and I can't play with the code so I don't know how to overcome this trouble which I have.

One other point:
Why did the FC4 guys remove the g77 compiler from FC4 while they know that gfortran is not complete yet. There a lot of codes written in fortran and they use g77 (f77) happily....why do they destroy the peace we have with their choice of packages to be removed. I would like to write this to them so they can know how much pain they cause for people!

thank you very much,
I am really in a bad need to solve this problem,

I found this that might help you with linking g77 programs.

The decision to use GFortran instead of G77 was made by GCC 4.0 (see here) and has nothing to do with Fedora Core.
