broadcom wireless card not showing up

Hello all,

I can't seem to get my wireless card to show up in my network configuration gui (System -> Administration -> Network)

I am able to join my wireless network using iwconfig on the command line and that seems to be ok, but When I try to add my wireless device via the network configuration gui, it doesn't show up. It just shows "other device" as the option when I usually get that as well as "wlan0".

Can anyone tell me how I can get this to show up.

I am using a compaq presario with an internal broadcom wireless card and ndiswrapper.

Yes Im aware that it can use any name so to speak but when using ndiswrapper that is the name that it defaults to which is why it was specified that way.

When I used iwconfig I did have to specify a device as well as the wep key and the ssid. All of that stuff worked fine. The issue wasn't that the wireless card wasn't working or not visible to the OS, just that through the gui it was not showing up.

I ended up updating my kernel and my kernel-devel and re-install/updated my ndiswrapper software and now it is visible through the network gui. So it looks like Im all set.

Among the other weird things, the ndiswrapper software that was previously installed was also hindering my system from being updated fully. Once it got to updating ndiswrapper it would stop and tell me that I needed something that was already installed.
