There are about three switches to switch the thing off. There is a kernel module called rfkill, and a txt file in the kernel Documentation rfkill.txt. You need those.

Okay so how do i use those things ? Do i neet to install something again in the terminal ?

/hangs head in shame: I only have one box where this is an issue, and I lazily boot vista on it. But from the doc it looks available in /dev/rfkill and in /sys, so you might find something knacky that says zero and be able to echo a 1 to it. Post it if you do. |
Yes i downloaded the rfkill and try to run the command and this is what i got ..
Cannot open input file /path/to/wl_apsta-3.130.20.0.o [root@Navets navets]# rfkill list 0: dell-wifi: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 1: dell-bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no I Download the file firm file and try to extract it .. but this is what happens.. [root@Navets Downloads]# su -l -c 'b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware /path/to/wl_apsta-3.130.20.0.o' Cannot open input file /path/to/wl_apsta-3.130.20.0.o [root@Navets Downloads]# Thanks for your reply :) Really need to make this things work .. |
I am not a Fedora-user, but per chance tried to install the drivers for my BCM3413 this morning (while trying to get used to fedora).
That said: I used gpk-application, searched for "kernel", scrolled down and picked: wl kernel modules for 2.6.35.12-88.fc14.x86_64 according to my kernel. The package name was: kmod-wl-2.6.35.12-88.fc14.x86_64-5.100.82.38-1.fc14.2 After that the wireless chip got recognized (as eth1). It was a bit of a mess, but i guess i followed this: http://fedoraforum.org/forum/showpos...62&postcount=3 to add the rpmfusion-repo (?). |
