Boot Screen Flicker

Has anyone experienced Fedora 7's boot/shutdown process to flicker? It is strange because it only happens during the boot & shutdown processes. When the GUI is loaded there is no flicker. Hardware uses a Generic CRT and the correct driver is loaded for the display adapter.

It IS really annoying, isn't it? That's caused by the video switching modes during the grub boot process.

I don't believe there's any current fix for it. I've read that a fix is being worked on for it, for inclusion in Fedora 8

The annoying part is that it does not happen with any of my newer machines. So basically the older hardware is not fully supported by the grub loader?

Fedora 8... So I will have to wait until early 2008. I know the says November but you know how final releases go
