Unhappy boot logo not visible after kernel compilation

Hi,
I compiled the kernel 2.6.17 source on Fedora core 5 and i selected the boot logo option during configuration. Everything is fine but the boot logo is not shown during the bootup process. Do i need to pass some arguments to the boot loader during bootup.
Please help !!!

In your /boot/grub/menu.lst file, put the following rhgb quiet at the end of the line with kernel.
