Blacklisted module not being removed in FC6

This is a new thread, based on a previous thread by me ... .

I blacklisted a module for the Broadcom bcm43xx chip in the /etc/blacklist.d/blacklist file. When I reboot my machine the module is still loaded. Why is this?

Try placing it at the end of the list;

# wireless
blacklist bcm43xx

Also turn off the kudzu service: chkconfig --levels 345 kudzu off

And remove the module from /lib/modules/<version number here>/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/bcm43xx, example, as root type;

rm /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2948.fc6/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/bcm43xx/bcm43xx

I assume you mean the /etc/modrobe.d/blacklist file.

Did you also blacklist it in the /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-compat file to prevent it from being hotplugged in?
