Blackbox: connection to X server failed

I have installed xorg and Blackboxk. I have also added the file .xinitrc to /root, in which I have wrote: "exec blackbox". Finally I have change the runlevel to 5.
If I try to execute "startx" from text mode, I receive this message: "connection to X server failed". How can I solve this problem? Any suggestion?

I would presume that if you have no way of getting X up, you need to modify your xorg.conf file.
