Put:
/dev/sdc1 /mnt/usbkey vfat noauto,users,sync 0 0
in /etc/fstab
create directory called usbkey in /mnt
substitute what your device is called for sdc1 in the above, it might be sdb. When you plug in your stick the usbkey should show up inside 'computer' on the desktop if you are using gnome. That a start. use system tools:hardware browser after you stick the stick in to find the device name under 'hard drives'
