My system Fedora Core 1 with KDE desktop.

So I went through the gdmsetup screen and set my system to autologin my standard linux user, but when I restart the system it just comes up with the standard login screen? What else do I need to configure to make my system login automatically?

Have you tried the Login Screen from the system settings menu. Try setting Login Screen to automatically log in and see if that works.

It does work as well coz i have just tried it. Click on the Start Menu, select System Settings and you should see login Screen. open it up and put a tick in automatic logon and use the drop down box to select the user you want to log on to.
