Audio Not Working FC4
 

Hi,
I am new to Linux and i can't seem to get fc4 to reconize my sound card, as such i cant listen to music or anything for that matter.

Please help,

First of all you need to provide further information. What system do you have and what sound card? The output of "lspci" should give a some information regarding the soundcard. Please check also the soundcard detection (can be started from the menu 'system settings' -> 'soundcard detection'). Does that show the correct soundcard? If yes: Check with "alsamixer" to ensure that the output is not muted.

Well, i can't get the sound card detection to start, i click on it from the menu just like you said and i has the little starting thing in the bottem of the screen then it dissapers and nothing starts. Also i don't have alsamixer installed on this system. I run Fedora Core 4, and i have no clue what sound card i'm using, i have a pentium 1 or 2.
