Application needs lib file

Trying to install a app, mtink.
It is asking for libgimp-1.2.so.0 , which I don't have.
But at /usr/lib64 there is libgimp-2.0.so.0.200.8.
Can I link to /usr/lib64/libgimp-2.0.so.0.200.8, and how do I do it ?
