apple trailers freezing

All,

I have just installed Fedora10 on my older Dell D800 laptop. One problem that I have noticed is apple trailers are freezing. I am able to view Youtube videos just fine. I checked the plugins folder and didnt see any mplayerplug-ins, but it seems they arent needed. Anyone seeing this also and have any insight on what I might need to configure to get this working properly?

thanks,

blumagic

YouTube uses embedded Flash for their videos, so you just need the flash plugin to play the. Apple trailers (as I recall) are actual QuickTime video files, so for that you would need mplayerplug-in and MPlayer built with support for QT.

Now I usually view the apple trailers in either medium or large format. I just tried the small format and the trailer isnt freezing. I then went over several other trailers and in small format none of them are freezing. So the trailers with a bigger resolution are causing a problem for my computer. Does that make sense? I did a quick speed test at speakeasy, net and got:
2852kbps down
696kbps up

I dont think this a network problem, but maybe it is?

thanks,

The next step would probably be to download one of the trailers that freezes up when streamed, and see if you can play it correctly from the local machine.

If it has the same issues when playing it locally, then you know it is probably a codec issue, or perhaps even a problem with the video drivers.
