I have clients that require that which that mean they require that I support it. I'm trying to avoid using a Windows server here. If I don't support FrontPage, my clients will go elsewhere. I have RedHat 8 working with them but my dedicated host is requiring me to upgrade to a "supported" OS now that RedHat has EOLed RH 8 and I'm not ready to pay $$$ for RHEL. So, it is either Fedora or Debian -- and I'm more familiar and comfortable with Fedora.
Alas, for some reason people continue to use FrontPage...but for us poor sods that have to manage the servers, here's a nice howto for installation on FC1 boxes...(this isn't the exact howto I used, because I can't find that one anymore, but this one seems to have all the steps)
After you're all done, make sure that you re-post frontpage "webs" using the frontpage clients. Don't just tar up directories and move them over, or you might end up with multiple administration programs like I did
Yeah, I found that same webpage and it worked fine for me. I also discovered that adding virtual hosts with FrontPage is easiest done with putting all the virtual hosts sections in the httpd.conf file instead of using the /etc/httpd/conf.d included configuration files that is setup on Fedora by default. I still use the conf.d approach for non-FrontPage virtual hosts.
