Amarok crashes on play

ok, i installed a new clean fedora core 3. I really like amarok so i downloaded the packages and compiled according to the install readme:
./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix`
make
make install

i rebooted and amarok created a shortcut. I run the shortcut and everything looks fine. But when i import a song and want to play it, amarok stalls. The name of the song and stuff appear on screen like normal but dont disappear and it wont play the song.

Anyone know anything to do about this, i search the complete forum and googled my ass off.

update:

i got this out of the console:

# amarokapp
Session management error: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed

I had the same problem-) The solution was to reinstall amarok...
Step by step:
Download kde-redhat.depo and drop it in /etc/yum.repos.d/ ;
in xterm - yum -y install amarok
Everything was fine for me.

You may also need to get the gpg keys:
Manually importing gpg key
For rpm-4.1 and newer:
rpm --import http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/gp...382fa-3e1ab2ca
For older rpm release (as root):
wget http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/gp...382fa-3e1ab2ca
gpg --import gpg-pubkey-ff6382fa-3e1ab2ca

This is from http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/
