All network devices not working

Hi, am new to this, so am sure am a novice to you all, but have got a problem an i need your help, any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
I just installed Network security tool-kit and i noticed my usb broadband modem is not detected, wireless device and my LAN connection (all network devices)and have already changed my root password, rebooted my system but it's still the same thing. so i decided to boot via the live session cd i used in installing the nst, and everything works just fine and that's how am able to connect to the internet right now, even my wireless and LAN are completely working. i think my network devices were dissabled in the installation, but the problem is how to enable it.
have been using Microsoft windows my entire life until last month when i downloaded ubuntu, i loved it but wanted something more secure, so i heard of nst, please any assistance would be appreciated, thanks. jaid

Curious, you said you downloaded Ubuntu, but you are posting in the Fedora forum. Is it a problem with Ubuntu or Fedora? I know Fedora uses NetworkManager to establish network connections, but I'm not sure what Ubuntu is using at the moment. It could be that we need to turn that on or as asimba suggests it could be something in one of your networking-scripts.
