All 4 CDs (FC4) fails the test

I got some errors when trying to install FC4 (can't remember them, but they told me I could not use /dev/hda1 (my root partition) before I rebooted (?). So I now did that test to check the CDs before installing. None of the CDs passed! I have downloaded from LQ ISO (which are from the fedora official download site, right?).

Does anyone else have this problem?

EDIT:
# cdrecord -v dev=/dev/cdrom FC4-i386-disc1.iso
etc...
Made a sha1sum and compared to those on LQ ISO, all correct.

The media check is buggy and can fail even if the media is alright. Ever since FC1, I have only passed the media check twice, but the installation has always been okay. Do you have an unusal configuration on your hard drive?

I say if your SHA1SUM's come out fine then don't bother with the media checks.

Have you tried a different burn program? I was having the same problem when I tried to burn using Deepburner went and downloaded the trial for Nero and they than all passed on the first try. since I'm new to linux I didn't want to take any chances. I did notice that Nero took longer to burn even though they both said they where burning at the same speed.

I think I will stay with cdrecord since it is the best burning app ever made! :P

I don't mind taking chances, I have been around for a while and if it won't work out I will just try another distro and wait for Core 5 and burn that instead (using cdrecord). :)

It's not that much trouble for me actually, I was just wondering if anyone else ever had the same problem.

Regards.

With Fedora, the application that does the media check is full of bugs. If you search on this forum, I posted a question a while ago trying to find out if others passed the test and only a few had done so, but the installation always went smoothly. Fedora maybe a good distro, but some applications e.g. the media check, up2date and system-config-packages need some serious attention.
