add or remove packages freezes....FIXED... plz delete
when i open add or remove packages, it freezes at processing headers...
also when i run any rpm command (rpm -ivh ....... or rpm -e .......) & if i su root & do any sort of yum update, install, etc.... on the bottom 2, i type them in a console, & then it goes to the next line, but it never says anything, & i don't get the # back either... i am running fedora & i did all the updates from yum... then i rebooted, & now i can't seem to add or remove any packages...... ____________________________________________ i put in the fedora cd & booted from it & upgraded the installation, & now it works.... i don't get it, but oh well. it works now... you can delete this thread.. thanks |
Most likely you've run into the "RPM stale locks" problem, which is encountered occasionally after rpm had been interrupted abnormally. The work-around would have been to terminate all rpm related processes and rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db.*
