Accessing LAN computers

how to access LAN computers like the 'network' facility in Windows?
Is there a way to do it in Fedora 9.

There are several ways of accessing another computer on a LAN: ftp, ssh, samba. The latter is the method which emulates Windows functionality.

I'm pretty sure that something like Fedora 9 has Samba installed by default. Look thru the menus for Network and similar words.
