you are aware that fedora 12 is an UNSUPPORTED version
it is dead .
Fedora 12 hit "End Of Life " Jan 2 2011
there will never be any support for it ever again .
NO updates ,NO security fixes , NO new software , NO nothing .

please stay current and install fedora 14 first

if for some odd reason you can NOT use a supported OS and MUST use a DEAD /EOL version
see this forum section
"EOL (End Of Life) Versions"
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forumdisplay.php?f=75

but fedora 12 will NEVER have any updated or new software .

I was able to install both Scilab 5.3 and the Scilab Image and Video Processing module on Fedora 12. Did you download the binary or the source version from the Scilab website? I used the binary and the install procedure seemed pretty straight forward.

A missing 'libbz2.so.1.0' : # yum install bzip2-libs
