Exclamation A few more questions

Hi, Thanks for everyones help on my other thread, now I have a few more queries relating to fedora core 2.6.

1. Ive posted before regarding extracting the files from a rpm file that contains lucent winmodem drivers for linux, and have done so sucessfully using file roller in fedora core 2. I have created a folder 'Modem Driver' in /home/(user)/. Now what? Ive read the 1st Doc text file but dont understand a word of it. As you can see Im a complete newbie and need step by step advice including even the complete basics.

2. I use my computer to play audio cds at times. When trying to play a cd, I click on CD Player in Multimedia menu. The player detects a cd but does not play. When I click on the CD-ROM icon in the computer window, a pop-up comes up stating that the volume has too many mounted file systems or types.

3. When I play the pre-installed games, most work well, however games which require 3D acceleration lag considerably. Is this because of my video card? Its an nVidia Gforce FX 5200 and has no trouble playing the latest 3d games in XP, so I believe it may be a compatability issue.

Again any help asap would b appreciated. Thx.

Moving to Fedora forum, but first...

1. Sorry, don't know..

2. Maybe you don't have an audio cable running from your CD device to your sound device, this would be a seperate cable from your IDE cable.

3. You will need to install the NVidia drivers that actually come from Nvidia. There is quite a bit of documentation on this, but beware, it's not a point and click process (don't be discouraged either, there are plenty of docs that discuss this in great deal, so well in fact most beginners can accomplish this without much help).

Cool
