64 or 32 Bit Fedora?
I run FC x86_64 on an Athlon 64 desktop computer and FC i386 on my labtop. On the desktop I run into trouble frequently because some libs are unavailable in the 64 Bit version. And I am sick of it.
I am playing with the idea to kick the 64Bit version and replace it with the 32Bit Version, but I'd like to get some opinions first. Does anyone have any experience with this? How about performance? Are there still some incompatibilities that I didn't think of?
Thanks for you posts!

First, let me say that running the 32 bit version on your x86_64 will work, and you will lost the problems you are having with libraries not being available. That being said, you will also lose some performance, because you are not taking full advantage of the CPU. What amount of performance you are going to lose I have no idea.
Second, as time goes on those libraries you are missing are going to be fixed and will be available. Unfortunately this is going to take some time.
So, my final thoughts on this are that you can go ahead and change over to the 32 bit version for now, and perhaps in the future when it comes time to rebuild the system, you can switch back over to the 64 bit version again.

im on slamd64 (slack 64) and i can run (almost) every 32bit program/library on it (only the ones that i need to compile from scratch sometimes say arch not supported but further all binaries work since its got a library for 64 bit aswell for 32 bit
i dunno if this is also available in fedora? i would assume it would

Which version of Fedora are you using? I know that they just came out with a new version within the past week or so, and they may have put in more libraries.
