3d effects Fedora 14

Alright, trying to enable 3d effects in the KDE version of the latest Beta for Fedora 14. If I go into the "configure desktop effects" as my user, I get the error

Of course, it doesn't give me a reason.

To verify that they actually are supported in the driver, I did a startx -- :1 from the console as root and went in, and it was able to turn the effects on, and they worked absolutely perfectly.

Using the standard radeon drivers on an x300.

Any advice?

After further googling, deleting my .kde/share/config/kwinrc and logging out/back in allowed me to set it.

dou you try install the privative drivers of ATI video cards ?
