*urgent* Squid and ISP proxy

Hi,

I need your help to resolve this issue. I have a squid proxy server running on Fedora 7. Squid should send all the traffic through my ISP proxy to be able to browse...how can I do that?

Correct me if I am wrong, but this is not related to my ISP cache proxy, and is not related to connecting my Squid server to my ISP cache proxy. This is just that the traffic does not reach the web unless if it goes through the ISP proxy.

Someone suggested to install webmin and use the proxy servers feature in the webmin configuration section, but I thought this is not related to it, or am I wrong?

Let us assume that you are working at run level three, how can you define a proxy in that case for wget for instance to work??!!

Thnx in advance,

please do not mark threads as urgent. they are not urgent for any of the lq members who kinldy donate their time to others.

as for your query, it's all clearly documented int he squid config docs... http://www.visolve.com/squid/squid24...s_controls.php

and your introduction of wget has nothign to do with the squid side of things. that'd be use of the http_proxy shell variable.

sorry for the title and thnx for the reply.

Regarding your link, I am not sure which part of the access controls you are referring to. Would you plz give me the exact command?

thnx,

*EDIT*
I did more search, and I found a hint on a different site, I will summarize it here so it might help someone else.

It seems that I can use my external ISP proxy as parent. And the fact that they do/do not support ICP will not affect anything; squid will use the ISP proxy even if they do not allow external ICP requests.

I tried this at home, and it seems working when I checked my IP, it gave me my ISPs cache proxy address.

Next I will try and see if the order of the ISP proxies which are defined in Squid will make a difference, I really hope that it will: D Some are reliable and others are not!!

Thnx everyone,

P.S.
If I am not mistaken, we were allowed to change the titles of our created threads in the past, this is not happening any more.

Thanx for the help I appreciate it.
