Need Help with USB boot up for Feather Linux.

Hello all. I am currently trying to boot feather linux off my 256MB Kingston USB drive, but to no avail. I have followed the feather linux site, step by step but i keep on getting DISK ERROR, or not boot record not found. The motherboard gives me the option to boot off the USB but nothing happens. I know i'm doing something wrong. One thing that the site doesn't http://featherlinux.berlios.de/ tell you is how to format your stick? is it ok to format it with FAT 32, or FAT, or linux. I would really like to have the ability to cary around an OS in my pocket Smile Thank you for your time on this matter.

Try FAT

A lot of the sticks can only be booted with FAT.

On the other hand a lot of those sticks can't boot at all!

Also the possibilities from the motherboard are not always the same.

Some motherboards have more than one USB boot possibility and then you have to try.

Hey thanks for the response, you where right my USB isn't bootalbe. So i used the floppy drive to boot from, and it worked. I'm typing this from feather linux. Very nice, and simple. It mounted my other drives with no problems, and i was able to hear music just fine with it. But i do have one more question, I clicked on mount.app which displays a little square box on the right of the screen, i have no idea how to close it. But other than that all is well, thank you for your time on this matter.
