No bugs can be reported yet, but Restart for the livecd OS may be philosophically questioned.
It seems that restart is the same as shut down.
Restart as the word implies, is to reboot automatically. For livecd, integrity can never be compromised. So restart must be to fine tune parameters, at the boot prompt? This can be achieved by total power shut down. Switch off and switch on, no hdd. No hdd damage can result in a Livecd installation.
If you want to reboot with a remastered cd, the philosophy is correct. cdrom tray opens at the end of restart command. But you have to power off manually on some older motherboards, before you can reboot with a new cd. This feature is tailored for Rob Sullivan and his staff.
If you want to add features from hdd, floppy, or jump drives, restart is not necessary.
Livecd and subsequent kernel 2.6.8, can run from 256 mb of memory. Unless memory is corrupted or a bug is discovered that halted the computer, restart will never be used.
