bash: var/log: No such file or directory

Does anyone know why I can no longer see my var/log directory? It was there like 20 minutes before I created this post.

Code:
carlos@carlos-ThinkPad-T470:~$ var/log
bash: var/log: No such file or directory
carlos@carlos-ThinkPad-T470:~$

Even with the slash, the command will generate an error (a different one, though).

Code:
sudo ls /var/log
su
passwd
#ls /var/log
it don't want non root looking in it,
it might be set up like that.
